Electrode tilting device

• Description

  Arc furnaces for the production of steel are provided with a device which enables the furnace vessel to be tilted for emptying the melt into a casting vessel, for example a steel ladle, and for slagging.

  On the one hand, designs are known in which the furnace vessel is seated in a vessel frame which rests on at least two tilting cradles. When the furnace is tilted, the toothed, mostly circular tilting cradle rolls on a horizontal, also toothed substructure.
  In another known embodiment, corresponding to the embodiment , the tilting cradle of the furnace is designed so that it is mounted on rollers and is tilted into both the tapping and deslagging position by a drive device.
  The automatic tipping device of electrode is combined with the lengthening device to realize the automatic loading of electrode. The tipping device is composed of electrode storage rack, electrode toggle mechanism, electrode holding mechanism, electrode tipping mechanism, hydraulic system, electric control system, etc.
