The modern submerged arc furnace adopts the fully closed furnace type, and the main equipment is composed of furnace body, low smoke hood, smoke exhaust system, short net, electrode system, hydraulic system, tapping and slag system, furnace bottom cooling system, transformer, high-voltage power supply system, low-voltage electrical automatic control system, monitoring system, mixing system, feeding system, blanking system, distribution system, furnace mouth dust removal system, dry process gas recovery and dust removal system, etc.

The upstream raw materials of industrial silicon production are clear and the production process is relatively fixed. Upstream production raw materials include silica and carbonaceous reducing agent, the above raw materials in the ore furnace high-temperature reduction reaction, so as to reduce the silica in the silica into industrial silicon liquid, after casting, cooling, crushing and other steps to generate block or granular industrial silicon. The content of silicon in the industrial silicon produced by this method is greater than 98.7%, and contains a small amount of impurities such as iron, aluminum and calcium. The production process mainly adopts the mineral furnace method, also known as the electric arc furnace method, whose principle is to use the energy of the arc between the electrodes to melt the metal, which is the main process of industrial silicon production in China at present.

The downstream products of industrial silicon are mainly concentrated in three major application areas and are widely used in national life. The three major uses of industrial silicon are the production of silicone, the preparation of high purity crystalline silicon materials, and the configuration of silicon aluminum alloy with special uses. Among them, silicone products cover silicone oil, silicone rubber, silicone resin, silane coupling agent and meteorological white carbon black, involving building materials, electronic appliances and daily chemical textiles and other common fields; Crystalline silicon products mainly include solar cells, chips, mainly used in photovoltaic and semiconductor industries; Aluminum alloy products refer to aluminum products with a small amount of industrial silicon added, and the most important use is the automotive manufacturing industry.
